Elephant Car Wash

Russell found this online somehow this morning. I can't wait to go to the Oregon Zoo!

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday turned out to be a quite a lazy Sunday here at the Ahlstrom house. I had gone upstairs to sleep Saturday night because Russell was snoring and didn't have my alarm. I finally got to sleep about 2am after my contractions settled down once again and the next thing I knew, Russell was kissing me and was all ready for church! Apparently he came up to wake me up for church but since I looked like I was actually sleeping really good he decided to let me sleep and just go to sacrament. I must say, I was sleeping really well for once!

Then about 1:30pm I went to lay on the bed and read my book and ended up falling asleep again. Sleep when you can I guess is my motto! However, I came out once I woke up and found Russell on the couch asleep too!

So....we didn't do much on Sunday, but at least we got some sleep before the baby arrives!

40 Weeks - Same Song, Six Millionth Verse

At the doctor on Wednesday everything was pretty much the same. Seems like we've got a stubborn little one on our hands (I have NO CLUE where she could get that from....haha). She is a little lower, but nothing to write home about, and he did put me down at 1cm, but said it was a stretch. I think he was trying to keep me positive!

The good news, however, is that he is using the 22nd as my due date still, instead of the 29th! Which means if I make it till my appointment next Tuesday (which hopefully won't happen...cross your fingers) they will do an ultrasound and non-stress test and then hopefully set up a time to be induced.

Other than that, it's the same old, same old around here. I don't sleep, I'm constantly starving, and my lower back has really started to hurt. But hey, it all comes with the territory right? Russell asked me if I ever wanted to be pregnant again last night and I didn't even have to think about it. Of course I do. We can't only have one hooligan around here! But....I am ready for a break from having someone inside of me.

October Twentieth

For months anytime someone talked about October 20th I thought there was something significant going on that day, but could never remember what it was. I asked Russell last week sometime if I was forgetting something but all he could come up with was that it was payday. Although that's great, I don't think that's what it was. However....it's the 20th and nothing exciting happened. Hopefully I didn't forget anything important!

Here's a picture for Caleb. The other night a couple of guys Russell works with came over to play games. We ended up ordering some pizza and it came with Optimus Prime on the box!

And another random picture. I finally bought a Flanagan pickle at Albertson's this week! I LOVE Flanagan pickles, they are the best in the world, and not just because they are Flanagan. They are quite expensive though, but I broke down and got one and it was delicious!

A Craving Denied

WARNING: PICTURE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POST.

I feel bad when I post without a picture, but there hasn't been much going on here. However, we are missing the the changing leaves of fall like these in Provo Canyon. It has been a little cooler here the last week, and even rained, but the leaves mostly are just falling off while still green rather than changing colors.

REAL POST

Yesterday we went to dinner at Chili's. I had signed up for their email list and thus had a coupon for free chips and queso appetizer and I was craving some cheese and broccoli soup since it's been a little cooler here. However.....when I went to order my cheese and broccoli soup the waitress told me they no longer carried it!!!!!! That was the WHOLE reason I wanted to go to Chili's!

I ended up getting baked potato soup which was good, and will probably be my replacement, but it's just not the same. Chili's was the only good cheese and broccoli soup I'd ever found and now it is no more.

We also ended up trying the chicken enchilada soup (our waitress said it's the best with the chips and brought us a sample) and I do have to say that it was quite good. Russell even said he would get it! So next time it might be chicken enchilada soup and chips to dip in.

From Anxious to Impatient - 39 Weeks

About two weeks ago I started to get really anxious for the baby. I realized she was coming this month and couldn't believe it was time already, but at the same time I was happy she is almost here.

Now....I'm just impatient. Everything is ready for her and she is showing no signs of wanting to come. I guess she's just happy right where she is, but I am ready to snuggle her and give her a bath and everything else. I sometimes just go and stand in her room and think, I wish it was time to use all this stuff, I didn't just buy it for decorations!

However, at the doctor today I was yet again only 1/2cm dilated. UGH. He says that from what he sees he doesn't expect her any before the 29th. I am having some contractions, but not in any sort of pattern.

So....it looks like our little cougar is happy where she is for now even though mommy isn't. I guess I can deal with that for a little bit longer and just anticipate a cute cougar like Jack:

38 Weeks

I went to the doctor today thinking positively. I had done a lot of work getting things ready in the baby's room yesterday and then realized that I had probably overdone it, but at the same time I was hoping maybe that would help her along! However.....no. It appears as if it didn't do anything.

Everything still looks great, and she's a tiny bit lower, but I'm still just 1/2cm dilated. Although....60% effaced. In the doctor's words "dilating is not your strong point." Thanks.

And so....we keep waiting. Lately the days go by soooooo slowly. I wish I just knew when she planned on coming!
