Saturday.....????

No, today is not Saturday, much to my dismay.

I woke up at 5:45 and thought, "Darn it, it's 5:45! Oh wait, it's Saturday, I can sleep!!! Hold on.......no it's not. Shoot." My day has been alright though, as good as it can be when you think it's supposed to be Saturday I guess.

Although no one knows what I mean by this, and I'm not going to tell anyone, I have to write it somewhere. It's been two weeks, and I'm very happy with myself.

Attack of the White Substances

Alright, I think I'm going to avoid every white substance that I see.

After the flour activity Monday, I went to work Tuesday night and Desi asked me to make another page like she had just made (so we could send one to Boise). So I proceed. Soon, my glue pen runs out of glue, so I decide I will use tacky glue to glue the rafia instead. For some reason the glue does not want to come out of the bottle. I stop squeezing and examine the lid, it doesn't appear to be clogged. Why then, is the glue not coming out??????

I squeeze once more and BAM!!!! glue everywhere. On my apron, shirt, face, hair, hands, etc. JOY!!!!

Melanie got a laugh out of it though.

A Few Funny Things

So here are a few things that I have found to be pretty funny in the last couple of days.

1. During the good news minute this Sunday in Relief Society, one girl raised her hand and announced that she washed her car. Although this is good news in itself I guess, her real excitement was that she went through the automatic car wash for the first time since she was 10 and for some reason could not get enough of it!

2. During Accounting today some guy asked Stice a question at the exact moment that Stice dropped his pen. In disgust Stice said "look what you made me do, I dropped my pen and now I can't find it." Once he found his pen, he proceeded. "You know, my daughter is taking Arabic and she taught me this one phrase and it goes like this: (insert the arabic that I can neither say nor spell here) and it means "may your house be destroyed." So to you, young man, (insert arabic once more.)"

3. Caleb and I were mutually working on homework today at his house. I was sitting on the couch reading, and he was in the office. All of the sudden I hear Caleb whistling a Sousa march. RANDOM!!!! It was pretty funny, but also reminded me of how everyone in Houston seems to hate Sousa. Where is there patriotism???

4. Once again while I was at Caleb's house. He had recieved and hung Tucker and Amanda's announcement on the fridge and came out to get some ice cream. All of the sudden he bursts into "Tucker and Amanda sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G....." CRAZY!

5. And finally, I went to FHE tonight for the first time since I've been here. Our group seems pretty fun. Anyway, we played the game where you put the penny on top of the flour and then each person takes a cut at the flour. Well, whoever knocks the penny down has to get it with their mouths, and I willingly took upon me that fate when I knocked the penny down. Too bad I forgot to take my camera with me or you could all see the results of my penny quest.

LOL......with everything else that's going on in my mind, I'm glad I can find humor in some things.

Hundred Dollar Dilemma

Background: My grandpa gives each of us a crisp $100 for Christmas, each of us understanding that $50 is really for our birthdays.

Problem: I can never figure out what to buy with it because of course I want it to be something he would approve of. I think most of the dilemma comes from the fact that he lives a very simple life. No computer, cd or dvd player, nothing. It suits him fine, but when I decide I want something that fits into these categories I always wonder if he thinks it's a waste of money and time.

I've almost come to the conclusion to buy the Life-Timez digital scrapbooking program with my money this year. It is $49.95 so I could put the other half in the bank and save it for when I'm old, like grandpa told me I should when I talked to him on Christmas. I really think the program looks like tons of fun, but I'm not postive yet that I will use it enough to make it worth while. I guess I will never know until I try it, but then if I don't like it there's no going back.

Opinions???
