Christmas

Our Christmas went great! We loved all our presents. Thank you everyone that gave us things. We got up about 7:30, opened presents, and then just hung out the rest of the day at home. We did enjoy talking to many of our family members on the phone. Here's some pictures of the day.

Russell loved this joke book from my family. It actually does have some good jokes. Ask him to tell you one.

I have wanted this doormat for years! It's always been backordered, but it showed up on our doorstep after Russell had cancelled the order!

Here we are after we are done opening presents. Now it's time to play!

In England you pop your Christmas crackers, wear your dopey hat, and watch the Queen talk on TV. Obviously we couldn't watch the Queen, but we did wear our dopey hats!

Christmas Eve

We've had a great Christmas Eve so far! After dinner we opened our PJ's from my mom, then we changed, read the Christmas story in Luke 2, read our chapter of the Christmas Treasury by Lloyd Newell we bought, and sang our favorite Christmas songs. Then we continued the tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve. I opened a package that had two Sandra Boynton books. These books are really for kids, but they are great and I want to make sure I have them when I have kids, so I asked for them now! Russell chose a present from my parents and it was a game called Yali. You have to try and get marbles to the other side of the board, but the board tilts and it's your turn whenever it tilts to your side! Here's some pictures.

Wonderful Purchase

Russell and I have been eyeing this ladder from the Quilted Bear for a month or so now, and so we decided to buy it with some Christmas money from my Grandpa. It's really neat because the ladder can stay up all year because they have different decorations to hang on it for basically every month. Like Easter, 4th of July, etc. Here's a picture of it outside our front door.

P.S. Mom- notice my cute snowman on the door. Also from Quilted Bear. You will have to come visit and go there with me!

Can't Wait to Scrap

Last night work was rather slow.....probably because it was snowing. So we had time to make some samples, and it got me back in the swing of things. Now I can't wait to have money so that I can make these and other pages for me and Russell. Here's the two samples I made last night. I know, only two in 7 hours, but they have to be perfect, and I did have to help SOME customers!

For my scrapbook, I will turn this into a two-page spread about my crazy bridesmaids. There are some funny pictures of them, especially in Houston. Something about Russell just sets those girls off.

The polka-dot paper and rub-on are from the Daisy D's valentines line and are super cute, I couldn't wait to use them. I'll also make this two-pages, with wonderful pictures of us!

Christmas is Coming!

We spent the weekend of the buying decorations, and decorating our house. We didn't get lights up on the outside, and now it seems like it's too late to worry about it, so we'll save that for next year. I love having my own house to decorate, and deep down inside I wish I had all the decorations my mom does to make every room perfectly Christmasy, but for now, my meager decorations will have to do. Here's some pictures.

Here we are by our finished tree! It now has a
tree skirt and presents!

Our stockings. We don't have a fireplace, sadly.
And.....it takes some good searching to find cute
stocking hangers! Speaking of searching, I still
haven't found a good tree topper.

This garland and lights took forever
to do, and it made a real mess, but
it turned out good.

More garland on the entertainment center,
some cute wooden candles from the Quilted
Bear, and the beginnings of the entire
Willowtree nativity.

A very cute Joy sign from the Quilted Bear.

Speaking of nativities, I was excited to find out that Russell loves them too. So far we've found like ten that we want. One day I will have a great nativity collection!
