The Final Days

When I woke up this morning I felt like I had to hit the ground running, there are only 12 days before the wedding and all of the sudden it seems like there is a ton to do.

I've been packing and doing laundry this morning, we got the power set up to come on in our new place on Wednesday, reserved a U-Haul to get some stuff over there, and even signed up for medical insurance. I've gotten a lot done this morning despite what my room looks like.

Our manager and another employee quit so I'm working 37 hours this week. I'm grateful for the money that will come with that but it's going to be hectic. Keera did start training me on receiving last Saturday though and it's a lot of fun.

Russell and I had a good time playing games at Caleb and Holly's last night after Sunday dinner, and we managed to finish gluing together the thank you notes I have enough paper for so far. I have about 120 made, but I'm not sure how many I need. I would put a picture of them up but that would ruin the surprise when you get yours in the mail!

Better get back to packing and then I'm off to work!

Can't Wait

There's a few things I can't wait for these days. Here's a couple of them.

1. I finished a surprise for Russell today and I can't wait for him to see it!

2. I can't wait for Russell to be here so I can talk to him in person rather than over the phone. Neither of us like to talk on the phone so this long distance thing is getting rather old.

3. I can't wait to be married. Being engaged is a lot of fun, but I think being married will be even better!

4. I can't wait to have a house with my sweetheart. I can't wait to have only my husband as a roommate. Russell is very clean anyway, but at least when I clean it will be for someone I love rather than because I can't stand the mess my roommates haven't cleaned up in over two weeks!

5. I can't wait to be done with school....forever. It feels great to have the summer, but the dreaded thought of Core I classes for business keeps rolling from the back of my mind to the front.

6. I can't wait for an acceptance letter from the business school. Hopefully I get one, it will be very sad if I don't.

That's about it for now.

End of the Semester

I'm so glad it's the end of the semester, but I've decided I don't wish anyone to have to plan a wedding and take finals at the same time, it's too crazy!

Things have gone well though. I picked up my dress and announcements this week and they are amazing! I really have never seen an announcement I like better, although I guess I am a little bias to my own. Russ and I already have the announcements folded and stuffed. Now we just have address envelopes and put pictures in when we get to Houston.

I'm not sure how I'm going to get everything I need to take home with me in my luggage, it would help if I could shrink my dress magically and then have it pop back to life when I got there!

We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point after we picked up our announcements. It was a little cold and rainy so we were like the only ones there but it was beautiful. We had a great time walking all around.

I'm off to work!

What a Stud

This is my favorite picture ever! I told Russ he can wear a tux everyday, I don't think he's going to go for it though. :(

Mom came up this weekend and while we were super busy we had a lot of fun and got a lot done. I bought a dress the first day she was here. Thursday we didn't get a lot done, but we looked at some announcements and flower girl dress ideas. Friday found announcements although I have to take the pink paper up to them so they can get started. We also figured out ties for the groomsmen and the rest of the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Saturday I went to Salt Lake with just Mom and bought a temple dress. We didn't have any luck finding one more matching tie, but we did eat at Marie Callendar's which was absolutely delicious. We also rented tux's for the wedding day and reception Saturday. He's going to have a vest with an actual design on it, not the one in the picture, but I love the picture!

San Diego

Here. June 23rd. We really can't wait.

Russ and I went ring shopping last Thursday and Friday. I picked out a ring on Friday, and was pretty sure he went back Saturday morning while I was at work. The whole weekend he teased me and confused me. I had no idea by Saturday night what to believe, but I was sure he would propose on Monday. Monday came and went though, and I was disappointed. Tuesday I was sure it wouldn't happen since I had to work all afternoon and he had to clerk until late. He called me after clerking and we went to Chili's. He teased me the whole time about how he wanted to give me a ring but he couldn't find a ring pop anywhere in town. We didn't get dessert which was weird because we both love the Chocolate Molten Lava Cake. When we got back to his house he brought out two A&W mugs full of jelly beans. Mine had root beer, cream soda, and orange soda and he had 7Up, Dr. Pepper, and grape soda. We tried all of the flavors from each other's and then he said "that would be a great place to hide something." I thought he was joking because we had joked about places to hide rings but when I kept eating he said "no really that would be a great place to hide something." He got me a bowl because I had eaten dinner twice and there was no way I could eat all those jelly beans. When I poured them out though, there was nothing there! As I started to tell him how mean of a joke that was he slide off the couch and onto one knee. He had the ring in his pocket! I found out the next day he had had the box in his pocket the whole night, at Chili's and everything and I am just oblivious!

So...June 23rd in San Diego. We are super excited.

I did meet his mom and step-dad this past weekend too. We had dinner, played games, talked, and went on a drive and walk up the canyon. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know them and can't wait to get down to Albuquerque and get to know them better.

We picked colors yesterday. Brown, pink, and white. Russ is in the process of making us a wedding website so everyone can see pictures, dates, news, etc. So when that is up and running I will post a link to it.

I'm excited for mom to come up this week and help me find a dress although I'm sure it will be hectic. I also can't wait for her to meet Russ!

Pay Day

I always love to wake up every other Friday morning, read an email from Russ and then sign into my bank account and see money magically deposited there from Archiver's for my leisure use. I am trying to save though....for good reasons, but I am going to use some of today's wonderful deposit (which was more than I anticipated) to buy some cute new spring clothes.

Oh the joys of direct deposit.

What a Day

This was last Saturday, St. Patrick's Day. We went to Lyndsey's wedding luncheon and then to the Joseph Smith movie because Russ hadn't seen it and it never gets old for me. Especially the part at the end where they are playing Praise to the Man and showing scenes from his life.

After the movie we walked around temple square for a few minutes, and took this picture. It was a beautiful day, I am definately a fan of the recent warm weather.
