A Flat Afternoon

So I've been sitting on our coach all afternoon working on my mounds of homework and for about two hours I've been serenaded by someone in the quad playing hymns on the flute. Now, I like the flute and I like hymns, the problem is the flute was extremely flat (as in out of tune, below the pitch). It's rather distracting and I think if I were able to find where they are playing, grab the flute from them, and twist it just a little everything would be okay and I would actually get something done. Since that is not polite though, I will sit here in musical agony and try to accomplish something.

Tired.....

I'm tired of studying New Testament, and my ISys teacher hasn't put up the powerpoint yet to study for the quiz. So here I am writing a post. I'm also very tired.....thank you Excedrin Migraine. Yeah sure, it makes the headache go away, most of the time, but the caffeine in it keeps you wide awake all night. As soon as it wears off though, I'm good for about a 24 hour nap. Too bad that's not possible with school.

We went to the Jon Schimdt concert at Thanksgiving Point Saturday night and it was amazing! I would go to a concert of his every night of the year. We'll probably buy tickets for the Christmas one too, but maybe I want to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra instead. I just can't decide really. Here's a picture of us there. And here's Jon playing upside down.By the way, I just gave Russell a haircut again the Monday before this. It went wonderfully well this time. I think I might start charging him!

We close on our house in nine days and we can't wait. Now we just need to start packing. And packing, and packing, and packing. Yeah right, like there's time for that. We went to our new ward in Spanish Fork on Sunday, just for sacrament and it looks like it will be pretty good. The ward has a nice range of ages and even an "Old Lady Bench" in the back. There were like eight ladies in their 70's sitting together back there, which is fun. We could tell they were all best friends.

Anyway, I guess I should study so I can pass the New Testament test.

Movie Miracles

This week we are enjoying the wonderful world of Netflix. We joined like on Monday and had movies on Tuesday! Our next movies should be arriving today. It's a lot cheaper than blockbuster, and you don't have to leave the house! Anyway, the first movie I picked was The Bourne Identity. I've only ever seen the seen where the bad guy comes crashing through the window, but now I've seen it all. The Bourne Supremacy should be here today, and then we can go see the third one in the theater.

Other than that, my life is filled with homework. I feel like theres no end, even when I work on it for 10 hours. Ugh. Two years and counting.......

Day One- A Disaster

Actually, the whole weekend has been filled with disasters. First I had to take my wedding ring in because one of the diamonds in my wedding band decided to break. So I was without my ring and feeling naked for four days. I did get it back in time for school to start today though, so that was good.

Sunday night about 11:30 I got a call from Keera. The store was flooded! A water main broke and a whole wing of the mall had flooded. I wasn't supposed to work on Monday and was ready to enjoy having the last day before school to spend totally and completely with Russell but I went in in the morning to help clean for a while. Come to find out today all the baseboards Diana and I cleaned ended up being pulled off the wall in order to be replaced. So much for that three hours! Our store is still a mess but at least we are open again.

And today at school was terrible. If I didn't have the threatening thought in my head of "what if something happens to Russell and you have to support your family" I would have withdrawn from all my classes and given up on school. My business classes have so much work, which I expected, but then I got to new testament and found out this crazy professor thinks we need to write like 18 papers during the course of the semester. I promptly dropped the class and signed up for one in the morning, hopefully it will be a little better. I didnt' get to eat lunch because the orchestra auditions took forever, come to find out even though "we love how you play and you've improved so much" they have 20 new majors and "we might not have room for you in the orchestra!" So then why did you admit 20 new majors that you didn't really have room for??????

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
