Quest for White Dress Shoes

So....I'm on a quest for white dress shoes that are CHEAP but COMFORTABLE. The only ones I have are the heels from my wedding day, and they are not comfortable. Anyway, I went to Kohl's after class Friday looking for some shoes, and they didn't have a SINGLE PAIR of white dress shoes. Ummmm.....hello....Easter is like two weeks away!

I did however, mosey on over to the baby department (which is what I do in all stores now, every time I'm there), and happened upon these:

And....of course they came home with me. There were many a cute outfit there at Kohl's, but when it comes to elephants I just can't resist. Luckily, they were 2 for $10, which made not knowing the gender yet somewhat affordable.

And a parting note: there's really not very many white dress shoes out there. Payless had a pair or two, and there's a store in the Provo Mall that had a couple pairs, but other than that....nothing. DUMB. I think I will go back to that store in the mall, they were cute shoes and only $19.95.

Dragon Slayer

So....Caleb says I should blog this story....hopefully Russell won't kill me.

The other night I was busy doing something and Russell asked me what we were doing on Saturday. I said, probably nothing except the Quickutz Warehouse Sale in the morning......oh yeah, and then homework, homework, homework. Then I asked him if there was something he needed to do and he replied.....oh, it's nothing important.

Well....a few minutes later the truth came out when I said something else, I'm not sure what. He said "well.....it's just that there's a couple guys who need me to help them kill at dragon at noon." (On World of Warcraft). Haha. He was concerned because it is going to take about an hour and didn't want to tell them he would help if we were going to be busy!

It makes me laugh every time I think about it.

Too Late

So since I've been pregnant I've been asking around to find an OB/GYN. I got a few names, but many of those didn't take our insurance or didn't deliver at the big hospital, and I'm too paranoid to deliver at the small community hospital! Anyway, I finally found one but didn't rush to call because everyone had told me that they don't see you until 12 weeks these days.

I finally got around to calling today (I'm 9 weeks by the way) but thought I would just call and get an appointment in a few weeks. I asked the lady to make sure that the doctor was taking new patients, and she responded "he's taking new pregnancies." I was a little confused by that, but said, "well, I am newly pregnant." So it all worked out.

However, she asked me how far along I was and found out that I was nine weeks. Turns out this doctor likes to see you at 8 weeks! Haha. The funny part was that she wasn't sure what to do since I was past that point and had to go and ask someone. Anyway.....I have an appointment on Tuesday. I don't know if we get to see the baby or not, but I guess we'll see!

Can't Get Enough

I really can't get enough of this kid. I'm pretty sure I have the best nephew in the world. I took this picture mostly to show Keera, because she bought him this outfit and he happened to be wearing it when I stopped by to lay on the couch between my classes on Tuesday.

Work Helper

My little sisters got this dragon Webkinz for Russell for his birthday, but they gave it to me when they were up here the first weekend of February and I hid it so good that I forgot to give it to him. So when I found it last Friday I decided to surprise him with it at work since I was going scrapbooking all night. He's a good helper.....kind of like a parrot on a pirate's shoulder!

Cravings

I just got done eating a dinner of Caesar salad, grapes, strawberries, multigrain crackers and cheese. Oh....and a lot of water. Russell says his mom would LOVE that dinner, and she probably would, I agree. And....it was sooooooooo delicious! Lately I've been having cravings for healthy things, which I take to be a good thing. But...I ate like half of the grapes, so I'm going to need some more soon!

Here's a list of things I've been craving so far:

  • McDonald's Chicken McNuggets
  • Caesar Salad
  • Potato Salad (I don't even normally like potato salad that much)
  • Chicken Salad
There seems to be a pattern going on of anything that involves salad. Weird if you ask me.
  • Fruit
  • Cherry Pepsi
That's about it for now I think. I've given into the Chicken Nuggets WAY to much, but now I think the craving is gone. And....I'm trying not to have too much Cherry Pepsi because I don't think you're supposed to have a lot of caffeine, but I'm not an expert.

4:45 Wakeup Call

This morning we got up at 4:45am in order to be to the hospital for Russell's hernia surgery at 5:45. Turns out, the lab guy didn't know he was supposed to be there early, so things were a little slower than planned. He finally went into surgery at 7:07am and they told me it would be about an hour before the doctor came out and talked to me at the end of the surgery. Well.....it was 8:50 before he came to talk to me! I have no idea what took so long, I guess I could have asked, but he said everything went well so that's good. It was about another 40 minutes before they wheeled Russell from recovery back in by me, and then another hour before we left the hospital.

And....after all of that, he's not even in any pain, or tired! I think I was in worse condition leaving the hospital pregnant, super tired, and hungry all at the same time than he was after just having surgery! He definitely hasn't responded to it the same way I did a year ago. I however, came home and slept for 3 hours!

Here's some pictures of the day:

Checking in at the new Outpatient Center

His pager. Number 47. It kind of felt like we were waiting to be seated at Chili's or somewhere!

All hooked up and waiting for Dr. Garry to get there.

After the surgery. He really wasn't funny at all, it was kind of disappointing actually. Apparently he did ask the nurses and doctors a bunch of questions though, I guess I should have warned them, but I didn't think about it.

And this is where he has been from when he got home on! Crazy!
Compare that to me last year:
Yeah.....I don't think it's fair that he feels so good, but I guess I will count it as a blessing.

News

I guess it's about time for us to share some news with those of you who don't know yet. So here it is!

We know we will need this:
But we're not sure whether we need this:
Or this:

Yup, that's right. I'm pregnant! We are so excited for our little one to arrive, but it seems like the end of October is FOREVER away! We are hoping for a boy, but will definitely be happy with whatever we get. Our only problem is.......we really don't agree on any names, so our baby might be named baby!

Sitting Up

We babysat Jack just long enough for Caleb and Holly to make a quick trip to IKEA for a rocking chair yesterday. He was kind of in a weird mood, but it was still fun. He likes to sit up a lot these days.

Friday Night Crop

Last night I went cropping with a bunch of friends, and not only did I finish my Ahlstrom tiles (which I posted about on Ahlstromology), but I also made a page showcasing our wedding invitations and us putting them all together.

We had a great time cropping and need to do it more often so I can get caught up with everything. My tiles turned out AWESOME and I can't wait to find a rod and get them hanging up.

Taco Bueno

Earlier this week I was thinking how great Taco Bueno Mexi-Dips and Chips are and how I wish we lived closer to one so that I could get some without having to drive to Houston! Well, I decided to look on their website to see where the closet one was, and it's in Albuquerque! Only 7.2 miles from Russell's house and we've never gone!!!! I think I calculate that to be about 4 times that I have missed out on Taco Bueno, and I blame it on Russell. I told him I'm not sure if I can ever forgive him.

Now I need an excuse to go to Albuquerque.

Scrapbooking Frenzy

Once in a while I get in a scrapbooking frenzy. My friend Keera knows exactly what I'm talking about because she's been on one lately. Now....a scrapbooking frenzy doesn't mean I buy everything, it just means I HAVE to scrapbook, or a feel like I have to, all the time. Finally, this coming Friday a few of us are getting together to crop and I can't wait! I'm going to work on some tiles, which I will explain in a minute, and maybe a couple of wedding pages too!

So....about these tiles. Keera made me these WONDERFUL Lucky tiles after she got the idea from her sister. I still need to find a rod to hang them from and add some loops of ribbon, but they are SUPER cute!

So.....I decided I wanted to make the rest of the holiday's and also one that said Ahlstrom to hang up in between any holidays or whatever. So....we went to Lowe's on Saturday and bought a whole box of tiles! They're cheap too, only .14 per tile! So now I have 100 to make all the tiles I want.

On Friday I want to make my Ahlstrom tiles, so I spent Saturday deciding what font I wanted and cutting out my letters with my Silhouette, which is AMAZING. I have the letters all ready, I have the paper picked out, so it should go pretty quick on Friday. I am trying to figure out a way to cut the holes out of the middle of the R and O so that they look a little better, but we'll what happens. I probably just need to play around on the Silhouette a little longer. I'm sure there's a way to do it.
