New Shoes

Day 120-Apr 29: I've been needing new shoes for work and nicer outfits for about a year. I bought some from Payless when I started working at Archiver's but was never happy with them, they were just all I could find/afford. I've been looking for a nice pair for about a year now and hadn't found anything worth it until a few weeks ago. I found these Doc Martens and knew they were what I wanted. I finally invested in them with some extra money. They were expensive, but they are nice and should last a long time, hopefully forever. I love new shoes!

Finals are Over Celebration!

Day 119-Apr 28: I've been done with finals since last Tuesday, but today was the first day Russell could really miss work and I didn't have to work, so we decided to celebrate finals being over today! We went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point and, as you can tell from the picture, it was rather scary. We really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it if you have little ones, they had some great activities for them like building a dinosaur, digging for bones, and an erosion table. After we were done we went to Lowe's and bought some flowers to plant in the backyard, and then to Archiver's to by the Basic Grey Archaic line to make pages of our dinosaur adventure. Overall, a great day. Now if we could just find a way to teleport so we didn't need cars it would be wonderful.

Sketches Software Idea

So.....I get a lot of scrapbooking ideas late at night and I have finally gotten around to having a stack of 5x7 notecards next to my bed so that I can wake up and sketch out my idea. I also have found that I love to sketch out the whole idea I have for a page and take that little card to the crop. It eliminates a lot of downtime at the crop sitting and thinking about what I want to do. I'm not the first one with the idea to do sketches, Becky Higgins has that covered. My thought though, is it would be great to have some software that I could make up my sketches on and print them off. Just black and white sketches, with outlines of where the pictures, cardstock, and embellishments would go, with everything proportionate (which I am not good at when drawing). Then, the ability to label these things like (blue buttons, or gingham ribbon) so that I remember my exact ideas. A drag-and-drop thing would be great, and then the ability to rotate things so that everything doesn't have to be 90 degree angles. Hmmmm......I don't know if I did a good job explaining, but hopefully you have a little bit of an idea. Now I just need to find a way to make the software and get it sold!

Russell's Blog

Russell started a blog the other day called Club Board Game. I added the link to the list on the side of my blog for anyone who wants to read it. He does a great job of reviewing most of the board games we play, so if you want to have a few great board games, but not necessarily 300, you could maybe get some insight as to what you might like.

Lazy Sunday Afternoons

Day 118-Apr 27: We only went to Sacrament today because I woke up in a lot of pain. I think maybe this hernia knows that it only has another week and a half to bother me and it's kicking it into full gear! Anyway, so Sunday afternoon/evening is rather long when you don't stay at church the whole three hours and I've had a hard time coming up with things to do. So.....I ended up reading.....a lot. Which is fine I guess. I will just have to go buy a new book before my surgery!

Day 117-Apr 26: I got home from work today (which was crazy with the 12-Hour Crop) and Russell had moved some books down to fill in these shelves on our entertainment center. I think it might have been a message to me about how I would just through my textbooks and things on them, in no particular order and they looked messy, but I do admit they look much better with these books. I guess when the new semester starts I will have to keep my textbooks upstairs, or on the bottom of the table behind the couch or something!

Sometimes I love to go to work on Saturday and see what Russell will do while I'm gone. Last week he had weeded half of the garden in the backyard when I came home! Now I can buy some flowers to plant! Love you honey!

Day 116-Apr 25: Russell and I love our Nintendo DS's. I bought one with my tax refund after I played Russell's while we were dating. They are really fun, and the touchscreen adds a lot to the games that the past Gameboy's have not had. Mostly I keep mine by my bed, and play a little before I go to sleep some nights. Russell is seen more often with his. Here he is playing Cooking Mama 2, he just got it this week as an Easter present from his Mom and Rachel was kind enough to bring it back to him from her trip down to Angel Fire. He already played all of Cooking Mama, so he was excited to start in on the sequel!

Day 115-Apr 24: I made chicken quesidillas from Sister Bitter's recipe today! They were delicious. I was over at the Bitter's playing games one day a couple of years ago and had them and they are the best. Ever since then, before I moved out here anyway, I would get a call from Alex when they were having them, and if I could go, I would. Anyway, I got a crockpot for Christmas not this last Christmas, but the one before and emailed Sister Bitter to get her recipe, and I finally got around to making them today! Yum-Yum! They are really simple, just through the chicken in the crockpot, even still frozen, then shred it, and make up the quesidilla.

Freedom

Day 114-Apr 23: My first day of freedom! I enjoyed just doing whatever I wanted to today. While watching Rachael Ray this morning, I decided I wanted to make a delicious dinner, so I went to the store and bought stuff to make fettucinni, I even made the sauce from scratch! I thought about making the noodles, but wasn't brave enough. I also enjoyed playing the piano for a while today, I haven't been able to do that in a while and it was nice and relaxing. Sometimes I think I could just play all day!

Day 113-Apr 22: I bought my book for Physical Science Independent Study today. I'm not excited about taking two classes independent study, but I am excited that I will be able to graduate in April. One more year, just push through.

Day 112-Apr 21: I spent five hours sitting on the couch tonight studying for my last final, ManEc. I needed to do well on the final, but when I finished studying I didn't feel like I remembered anything. Ugh. The only good part of the studying was that I finally figured out how to do the stupid fish problem we had been working on in class all semester. At least the studying paid off, I did well on the test.

Crazy Concoctions

Day 111- Apr 20: Russell loves to make crazy milkshakes, I don't think I realized this until after we were married and suddenly I had Root Beer extract in my spice cupboard "for Root Beer milkshakes!" Anyway, today he came out of the kitchen and asked me if I thought a chocolate pudding milkshake would be good. I'm pretty sure I gave him a really weird look and he went back into the kitchen and ended up with this picture. The funny part is he drank one and put the other one in the fridge. When he went back to eat it, it was pudding! I guess that's the only bad part about a pudding milkshake!

Bugs and Expos

Wow. What a couple of days. Work has been crazy, we have had to staff two bridal shows, the Scrapbook USA Expo, and each day, which is crazy. I finally found a minute tonight to blog, and then I'm going to sleep. There needs to be a lot of studying tomorrow, hopefully it goes well. Here's some pictures of the day.

Day 109-Apr 18: We spent the evening preparing for Nursery on Sunday. The lesson is "I am thankful for birds and insects." We cut out all these bugs, bug jars, nature walk binoculars, and butterfly finger puppets. We are going to use the binoculars to go on a bug hunt (inside since the high is 45) to put in our bug jars! It was a lot of cutting, hopefully the kids enjoy it. I'm afraid the girl who is afraid of tigers, lions, and dinosaurs might be scared to death the entire lesson.

Day 110-Apr 19: I went to the store this morning, and then headed to the UVSC wedding expo for a few minutes, and then up to Thanksgiving point to that wedding expo to relieve Noelle, our district manager. It was fun to work with Noelle and chat with her for a few minutes before she left for the airport. She's so much fun and we love it when she comes to the store! I finished up the expo for a couple hours and then took the supplies back to the store. It was fun but extremely hot!

What?!?!?!? - Delayed Edition

I tried to post this on Thursday but the pictures wouldn't load, so here it is now.

This post is going to be filled with random things. To start, here's the picture of the day.

Day 108-Apr 17: Sometime close to the beginning of my shift today I was out talking to Elaine, Noelle, Desi, and Charis when all of the sudden I lift my arm up to do something and my shirt rips at the elbow!!!! I've never even heard of a shirt doing that. And...it was one of my favorite shirts!!! Now that I look at it, the cuffs were getting a little worn, but it was still perfectly wearable. And I couldn't find a long-sleeve shirt to replace it, nor did the store have the short-sleeve one I liked in my size. Go figure. Guess I will have to keep looking.

I did however, while looking for a shirt, get this wonderfully cute bag from Aeropostale for $9.99 instead of $32.50 today! I saw it first in Colorado at the outlet stores, and have been watching for it to go on sale ever since. There was no way I was paying that much for a bag. But I happened upon the sale today, I wasn't even looking!

And......drum roll.......Russell got promoted yesterday and I am lame for not remembering it in my post then. He took the job of Tier 2 Team Lead, which comes with a raise, people to manage, and a move back to the closet office. He took the place of his friend who just left to work for another company. We are pretty excited that we will have a few extra dollars in the budget! Good job Russell!

It Finally Came!

Day 107-Apr 16: My Archiver's fleece jacket finally came today! The few of us who are still there after working for a year have been waiting and waiting to get our jackets from corporate. We were starting to think that by the time we got them it would be too hot to wear them. But....the weather must have known they were coming because even though it was 80 on Monday it has been in the 40's since! I am glad Elaine talked me down to an XS, a small would have drowned me!

Catch-Up Part 2

Day 106-Apr 15: Finished my ethics final paper today! That's two finals down, three more to go. This paper took me longer than I planned. I ended up spending most of the day on it. But it's done now and I right now the plan is to take two finals on Friday and one on Monday and then I will be done!

Day 105-Apr 14: Backpack Retirement Day! Today was my last day of classes for this semester. This little backpack will get a break for a few months, and I can't wait to get the break started! Now it's on to studying for those finals so I can get them over with and start having fun!

Day 104-Apr 13: I put in a Marie Callendar's Crock-Pot Meal into my wonderful Crock-Pot this morning and we enjoyed a beef, potatoes, and vegetable dinner tonight. Oh how I love my Crock-Pot. It is wonderful to not have to worry about dinner, but just be able to smell it and anticipate it all day and then open that lid and eat!

Catch-Up Part 1

Day 103-Apr 12: Mr. and Mrs. Eric Gordon! Keera and Eric finally got married today, it seems like they have been engaged for a lifetime. The weather cooperated wonderfully from snow yesterday to 65 degrees today. The ceremony and reception were both outside and Keera had decorated gorgeously. What a beautiful day. As we listened to the bishop perform the ceremony, it was a great way for Russell and I to remember and reflect on the covenants we made together almost 10 months ago.

Day 102-Apr 11: Honey mustard is my favorite condiment, by far. On burgers, chicken, or fries, it's just wonderful. As we were eating dinner tonight I read on the back of the container that white wine is one of the ingredients! I can't believe it! Russell said "no wonder you like it so much!" And it's not just this brand....I looked on the Wendy's honey mustard the next day! Well....I still plan on eating honey mustard anyway.

Day 101-Apr 10: I was running late coming home from work today, and because we were having people over to play games at 7 and it was already after 6 we decided to stop at Sonic. We LOVE Sonic and haven't been there in a long time because we are trying to stay away from the fast food and give the budget a break. So....we really enjoyed our Sonic splurge. For some reason Root Beer is so much better from Sonic.....it must be the ice or something. And...this Sonic in Springville is the best one I've ever been to. The food is always hot, they are fast, and the fries are not soggy!

Another Scrapblog

One more Scrapblog I threw together tonight to show Russell how it worked.

Scrapblog...Oh No!

Russell found this site somehow, and it's actually kind of fun. I messed around with it for a little while and came up with a page. Click here to see it. I don't know how much I will do on it, but it could be fun to just share pictures with family over the internet.

Day 100!!!!

I can't believe I've actually taken a picture for 100 days in a row! It's been fun though, and I can't wait to get started on my book.

Day 100-Apr 9: When I got an email this week that Grandma Chatfield couldn't have dinner because she's still not up and running from her surgery I thought, well, I can't to much bet I can send a card. So I picked up some of the Making Memories Garden Party line and made this little card for her. I love, love, love the Garden Party line and bought some of it for my own use as well a little while ago. Can't wait to use it!

Keera's Gonna Kill Me

Day 99-Apr 8: So I just got back from doing inventory at work tonight. It was storage and adhesives night. It was a little confusing because of the backstock and things, but we got it done eventually. And...Keera's going to kill me, but she was just so focused on getting everything scanned that it was a perfect picture! Oh the joys of inventory.

Stitch Bear

Today's one of those days. The kind where you don't do anything special, just ride the day in and day out wave and go to class and do homework. I did however email my OB final just a little bit ago, which is nice. One final down....four to go. So I took a picture of something that means a lot to me, but has nothing to do with the day specifically today.

Day 98-Apr 7:

This is my Stitch bear. I don't know why his name is stitch, but it is. In my family it has been a tradition that the new baby gets a stitch bear that is brought to the hospital for them. All of us have them....some of us are more attached to them than others. Britni is definitely the most attached. She's worn out one, maybe even two stitch bears. I'm pretty attached to mine too, but I've managed to keep the original. I slept with him every night, up until I left town to get married. I don't sleep with him anymore because I have someone better! I loved him growing up and will always keep him. Hopefully we can keep the tradition going with our kids!

Mania Success

Here's the other pages I got done at the mania last night. I finished up the President Hinckley one during Conference this morning, but it still needs a quote, I just ran out of teal paper!

Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures

Day 97-Apr 6: We enjoyed watching conference today and had a pretty lazy day other than that. Russell has been folding the laundry as I typed this and then showed me how he gets all the whites upstairs in one trip! Personally, I just put them all in a laundry basket and carry it up, but to each his own.

Day 96-Apr 5: I went to Mania tonight and had a great time! I've been wanting to go for forever and finally got some time (and money). A group of employees and good customers went so we had a nice table of 8. Kara, Clarice, Me, Joyell, Kathy, Desi, Diana, and Tiffany. There were good snacks, laughs, and supplies to share! I got a lot done, which I was surprised about. I managed to get the title page for my picture a day book, the alarm clock page, and the silly wedding page done and got a good start on my President Hinckley page. The picture of the day is the title page. I had a vision for it in the middle of the night one night. I used my stitched piece for it, and we had a mini photo shoot to get some silly pictures to make it look like we were in one of those photo booths!

Day 95-Apr 4: I finally found some more pants for work that didn't cost $50! I waited a little too long to get the ones at American Eagle I wanted. They went on sale and I didn't realize it before they were out of my size! Luckily Aeropostale was having a 70% sale and had this one pair of 1/2 left. They didn't have them in the "short," so I'm trying to shrink them a little in the washer right now, but they fit well which is wonderful. And.....I won't have to wear the same pants to work all the time. I may have to break out the sewing machine and do some hemming though!

Day 94-Apr 3: I broke my sewing machine out tonight to try stitching on my scrapbook. I've been wanting to try it for a while now because I keep seeing really cute pages with stitching. It took me a few tries to get it to work right, but I did manage to do alright in the end. I might just do it by hand on smaller things from now on though because the thread likes to loop up for some reason when I stop to make sure my paper is still aligned right. On to curtains I guess, as soon as I find material that is.

Day 93-Apr 2: Here's my addiction for the last month or so. Well, since Russell got it for his birthday. I really never have like playing Mahjong on the computer or internet, but for some reason I love this game. I think it might be because I never bothered to find the rules when I played before and then got frustrated and stopped, but this game tutored me through the first level and then let me go. I'm almost done with the game, and then Russell can have it back and play!

Glitter War: April Fools Edition

Day 92-Apr 1: Desi, Keera, and I got Elaine really good today. We called her out of the office and as she came out Keera poured a whole thing of red glitter on her, then as she turned around to go back in the office, Desi poured a whole thing of yellow glitter on her! Haha. The glitter wars continue. We couldn't think of a good April Fools prank, so we just got her with glitter instead. I was the only one with camera so I stood back and took pictures.

Day 91-Mar 31: I'm so excited, I'm going to Mania this Saturday while Russell goes to Priesthood session! I've been dying to find time to scrapbook and I'm finally going to get to. A couple of employees and some of our good customers are coming so it should be tons of fun. This picture is my pile of stuff to take with me. So far the plan is to get a President Hinckley page, a silly wedding picture page, an alarm clock page, the cover for the 365-Day book, and Russell's graduation pages all done on Saturday, but I doubt I will do that all! We'll see how it goes.
